hISTORIC CONTEMPLATIONS:

136 YEARS AGO:

In 1880, if you were TRAVELING from Bartlett to Intervale or north conway, the best way to get there was on the train.  The only other alternative to travel anywhere was by stage coach, your horse drawn wagon, or, you could always walk.  it was quite common for bartlett folks to hop on the train for a day trip to portland.

WHEN OUR MUSEUM IS FINISHED YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HOLD IN YOUR HANDS, THE VERY SAME TICKET THAT PERHAPS ONE OF YOUR OWN RELATIVES USED  MORE THAN A CENTURY AGO.

WE HAVE MANY OTHER ITEMS THAT NEED A DISPLAY AREA WHERE PEOPLE CAN SEE AND TOUCH THEM INSTEAD OF BEING HIDDEN AWAY in file cabinets AS THEY ARE NOW.

the process of saving and COLLECTING OUR HISTORY AND MEMORABILIA  IS OF LITTLE VALUE IF NO ONE CAN SEE THE ITEMS WE HAVE ACCUMULATED.  that's just one reason we ask your help in establishing our bartlett museum; so our collections can be easily displayed and shared with folks seeking their heritage.

THIS LINK WILL TAKE YOU TO A PARTIAL LIST OF ITEMS WE HAVE ACCUMULATED...AND THERE IS MUCH MORE NOT SHOWN IN THIS LIST YET.
